Classroom Parties
Classroom parties are held at
Christmas and at other times during the school year when arrangements
are made by the teachers. We do not acknowledge or celebrate
Halloween in the school setting. Volunteer Room Parents are helpful
in making these arrangements and are greatly appreciated.
Kindergarten
Class on a Nature Walk
Field Trips
Educational field trips
are taken by classes during the school year. The trips are related to an
area of study in the classroom and provide for curriculum enrichment.
All students are expected to participate. Parent volunteers generally
provide transportation and assist with supervision. Some field trips may
include a nominal fee. Information regarding field trips will be sent
home by the teacher in advance.

Fourth of July Parade
Fundraisers
Emmaus Christian School conducts
several fundraisers each year. The annual fund-raising dinner is held
towards the beginning of the school year.. The
students also participate in the Campbell's Soup Label Contest.
Each year the proceeds are used to purchase classroom equipment,
supplemental books, or other classroom helps. The
Annual Plant Sale is a great way for students and staff to help
raise proceeds for the school. The plant sale
will be held each April. The school has offered several garage sales
as fund-raisers for the school.
Outdoor School
Students in sixth grade have the
opportunity to participate in a week of outdoor educational activities.
Outdoor school is held early October, each year at
Camp Yamhill.
Traditionally, Emmaus students have participated in an outdoor school
with other Christian schools where the teaching is provided by a
Christ-centered organization. This is offered as an overnight camp
experience. Parent volunteers are necessary to provide adequate
supervision for Emmaus students. An extra fee covers the cost of this program.
School Pictures
Individual student and
class composites are made available for purchase in the fall of each
year.
Seventh / Eighth Grade
Retreats
The seventh and eighth
grade classes particpate in a retreat in early October at wilderness
camp settings like
5 Rock Ranch
(west of Camp Yamhill ). The goal is to build relationships and
attain a measure of spiritual depth not always possible in the classroom
setting. An extra fee is collected to cover the cost of this program.
Sports
The school participates in the Metro Christian League. Volleyball
is offered for girls in grades 6-8. The 7-8 Girls and Boys
basketball teams plays from December 1st to end of February. 5/6
boys and girls teams are offered as well from November through December.
We also offer coed track in the springtime.
Apart from the league,
intramural soccer is available for grades
K-5 in the Fall.
